This brown sugar saver delivers dependable moisture control to keep brown sugar soft for 3 to 6 months and restore hardened sugar for consistent results in everyday baking, pantry organization, and recipe preparation. Made from high-fired terracotta clay, it naturally regulates moisture levels based on surrounding climate conditions to maintain ideal food texture. The charming gingerbread man design adds a touch of baking nostalgia and decorative whimsy to pantry storage, baking canisters, and countertop containers. To soften foods, simply soak the saver in clean water for 20-minutes, pat dry, and place it inside an airtight container with brown sugar or other soft food items. The terracotta slowly releases moisture to retain softness, and the process can be repeated whenever needed. It is ideal for brown sugar, granulated sugar, sugar in the raw, turbinado sugar, sugar substitutes, baked goods, breads, muffins, soft-baked cookies, marshmallows, and dried fruit. Used dry without soaking, it absorbs excess moisture to help retain crispness in crackers, pretzels, chips, crunchy granola bars, and nuts, and helps prevent spices, salt, and flours from caking. Reusable, food safe, and heat safe (up to 1112-degrees Fahrenheit), it should be rinsed with clean water only, without soap, to avoid lingering taste or scent. Not recommended for microwave use, as terracotta may crack.
